Making Memories

Private jets have always been recognized as great business tools that help multiply the productivity of entrepreneurs and managers. But these days it seems that people are discovering how an airplane’s value extends to more personal areas where we live. As a case in point, the other day I loaded up some friends and family into one of our aircraft and set out for Grand Canyon Airport. The mission was just a one-day getaway to verify that prehistoric wonderment was still there and to make a memory. The experience was a delightful escape from the day-to-day grind to more wide open spaces where our spirits could be restored. Yes, I know Grand Canyon may not appeal to everyone but it was cool to see it again and, for the two in our merry party that hadn’t seen it before, it was spectacular. The point is that the airplane made it so incredibly easy to get there and back that the trip was even more memorable than it would otherwise have been. Try to make a day trip to Grand Canyon National Park or any other attraction in the western states by more conventional air service and you’ll need multiple days to do it. And it’s doubtful that getting there will be the best part of the experience. Having access to an airplane gives you access to a plethora of sights and places where memories are made for a lifetime and spirits are restored. Places like Yellowstone, Yosemite, Napa Valley, Bandon Dunes, Mammoth Lakes, Sedona, and many more are accessible within an hour or two in a Dreamline aircraft and we’ll do our best to make getting there as enjoyable as being there. So, next time you yearn for the road less travelled, let Dreamline help you to “make all the difference.”

Jet Charter Audit Process

The practice of using independent third-party auditors to rate a company's performance dates back to 1909 when a financial analyst named John Moody first assigned letter grades to railroad bonds. This innovation made it easier for investors to evaluate a rail company's debt and launched an industry that has become a powerful force in modern capitalism.

More recently, a similar innovation has been brought to the world of private aviation with the codification of industry standards for best practices and safety management. The agencies are Aviation Research Group US (ARGUS) and Wyvern, which have become the trusted sources for rating the organizational and operational capabilities of private aviation companies worldwide.

Last month we invited ARGUS to audit Dreamline Aviation. This two-day process included an in-depth review of our procedures, practices, philosophy, and personnel as well as an evaluation of our documentation and regulatory compliance. Past experience has taught us the value of these audits - no matter how good you think you are, you can always do better. The exercise afforded us the benefit of lessons learned in thousands of such audits; lessons that have enabled us to fine-tune our procedures. And, oh yes, we passed with “flying colors”.

You can be assured that Dreamline is committed to continuous “process improvement” and that every department is aligned to deliver flight services to the highest industry standards.

Reflecting Back on a Decade of Private Aviation

In just a few days we will celebrate the end of a very eventful decade and, most likely, the beginning of another. Lessons learned from looking backward would have to include the over-hyped advent of the Very Light Jets (VLJ’s) and the importance of remaining guarded with the next "new thing." Usually it pays to be suspicious; most early adopters are smarting from “buying the hype”.

We also saw considerable effort, time, and money invested in creating a national brand for traditional charter and aircraft management services which, I am sorry to say, also failed to reach its potential--so far. I am persuaded that we will see a successful consolidation of our segment of the private jet service business in the coming decade. However, its success or failure will depend upon solving the problem of growing larger without loosing the personal contact that I believe drives most of the buying decisions. In the end, one’s choice of a service provider is based primarily on familiarity and trust.

During the past decade we’ve witnessed innovation and advancement in nearly every other facet of private aviation. Many new and exciting technologies have been added to the cockpit and passenger cabin. We’ve also seen significant improvements in security, training, and communications brought about by an intelligent use of the Internet.

In the midst of change and growth, one fundamental truth stays constant; private jet charter is one of the most personal of services. Whatever the future holds for the private jet industry, clients will continue to rely on providers who deliver highly personal and focused attention to their particular needs.

Privacy and Personal Security

The value-proposition offered by private jet travel has always been centered on convenience, like you’re being able to: use regional airports closer to home, park your car just a few steps from the airplane, and escape the time-eating experience of the major airline terminals.

But based on today's pat-down/nude body-scan headlines, travel by private aircraft may be more about your not having to surrender your right to privacy. Regardless of where you stand on the merits or mistakes of the new TSA initiatives, now more than ever, there is a new reason to choose private aircraft.

While all airline passengers are subject to TSA requirements for physical searches of one kind or another, flying on a chartered aircraft does not. And because the TSA has its hands full (pun intended) screening millions of airline passengers each day, private aircraft are likely to remain the best alternative to today's air travel realities.

It's just another factor that can further narrow the gap between the relative costs of an airline seat and the exhilarating and relaxing experience of flying aboard one of Dreamline's pristine aircraft.

And you'll always know who you're flying with.

Welcome Dreamline Aviation

These days you hear a lot about people reinventing themselves. If "reinvention" is really just a euphemism for dealing with unexpected life changes, then the formation of Dreamline Aviation amounts to a welcome reinvention for many former Spirit Aviation team members.

On September 1st the merger of Avmark Flight, LLC into Dreamline Aviation was completed, officially marking our re-emergence as a worldwide private jet operator. We are very pleased to have re-connected to so many of our customers and friends as Avmark Flight and look forward to hearing from many more under the Dreamline Aviation banner.

The best part about running a flight service company is the privilege we enjoy facilitating your lifestyle. And now we have a full spectrum of aircraft from Gulfstreams to King Airs ready to serve your private air travel needs--whether traveling across continents or across the county. One call to Dreamline Aviation puts 25 years of experience to work for you, "24-7."

Introducing Dreamline Aviation - Private Jets Worldwide

For anyone that has come through the past two years with their business and investments intact, I think congratulations are in order. By all accounts, the Great Recession has amounted to a trial of our business acumen as well as our nerve. The unprecedented changes in the business environment have required the use of muscles we forgot we had and though we might now be a little sore, we are stronger as well.

Having led a business through two earlier recessions, I have observed that private jet activity has been a reliable leading economic indicator. Months prior to a measurable decline/increase in the economic growth rates, our industry usually feels the pain/joy. With that said, I am pleased to report that our flight activity is increasing, signaling a renewed confidence in the economy and, we hope, a return to much needed job creation across the country.

At the same time we are looking forward to the nascent economic recovery gaining steam, we are also celebrating our re-certification as a world-wide FAA Approved Commercial Air Carrier. This achievement was accomplished during an era of heightened FAA scrutiny and a myriad of new regulatory requirements.

Our new charter company is called Dreamline Aviation and the personnel you knew and who worked for you at Avmark will look very familiar. With aircraft based in Van Nuys, Orange County, and the Bay Area, Dreamline is uniquely positioned to provide you premium aircraft management and flight services throughout the Western United States and the world.

As you make your summer travel plans, we hope you will let Dreamline Aviation help you take flight.
